My old mate from our teenage years in Blantyre, Archie McNulty (the suave good-looking guy on the left), has sent me this yellowing, crazed, photo from another time. Fair took me back it did! For interested fashionista historians, the bespoke suit (Lovat Green if I remember correctly) with the bumfreezer jacket was from the Blantyre Co-op (Menswear Dept.); buttondown, high-collar, shirt (29s 6d) by Bob Fletcher (Esquire), Cambridge Street, Glasgow; tie (Woolworths & Co., Hamilton); shoes (A.L. Scott’s, Byres Road, Hillhead); hair (Fuscos, Cambridge Street, Glasgow). By the way, that’s a waistcoat under my jacket, definitely not a pullover!..'
